Break time is over.
I've started working on my long lost project again. Most of my work recently has been itchy fiberglass stuff. I'm filling several holes that were in the body. The major orifices are in the hood where the fuel fill used to be and the four tail light pattern that was cut in the rear. I'm moving the hood hole because I don't like the idea of dragging a fuel hose over my future new paint so I can fill up the tank. I bought a new flip top filler that I will mount on the passenger side of the hood and will elbow it into the tank at the original inlet. I read somewhere that moving the fill to the center of the tank reduces you fuel capacity anyway and this way I don't have to do any work to the tank other than clean and paint. I also saw some really cool oval LED tail lights on ebay that I'm going to use. They are flush mount and should be perfect.
My goal is to get 80% of the prep work done to the body this month and completely assemble the car next moth before I paint it. After I get it put together and maybe take it for a spin around the block, I'll break it back down again for the final paint job. I want to make sure everything fits together and all the major bugs are addressed before I get any color on the body.
